Happy Easter!
This is a cute math idea that I've seen many times on Pinterest, and finally got around to doing it myself!
We used foam shapes from the dollar store in an Easter theme (I think these are sold as 'table scatter'). There was an egg tray with plastic eggs that each had a combination of two kinds of foam shapes inside.
The kiddos had to sort the foam shapes onto the top and bottom rows of their egg carton (1:1 correspondence!) and then write a number sentence in their journals (writing practice!) to add them together (basic addition!!)! They got really into it. (Let's be real- I did too!)
And ya'll know how much I love making holidays a little more educational! But don't worry- we still had a full-blast candy fest at the end of the day!! ((I love how the egg cartons became the perfect treat totes!))
And kudos to the parents who sent in non-candy toys like stretchy frogs, bath squirts, and play dough!
Happy Easter everyone!
